What cameras did they use for the video?
I know they used lights and reflectors on many scenes for the video, but the contrast is like HDR.
Amazing! Is it a post-production filter or what?
How does one get that kind of video result?

Please note that this is a professional produced video by Canon for their Assignment Tutorials campaign.
It was shot using Canon’s own professional HD video equipment along with professional HD video lenses. And they sure got one hell of a cinematographer for this. In-camera filters and high-quality post was used to enhance even more latitude, tonal range and for those colors to pop out.
You may not have the money nor skills to do something like this, so it’s not something you can duplicate.

@ziryab92
I have no idea why you thought you should answer my post?!?!
“High-quality post” means nothing to anyone.
I was asking for someone who actually has some knowledge to answer what kind of post production can produce such wide tonal range.
And I certainly didn’t think they’d be shooting this kind of video with Sony camcorders or D300.
And please don’t assume you know my budget nor skills.
